In Mark Westaby, we have one of the true pioneers of the media measurement and evaluation industry. Mark originally founded Metrica, one of the country’s first media evaluation companies, in 1993, which grew to become the world’s largest independent media evaluation company before being sold to Durrants/Gorkana, in 2009, and subsequently Cision. The global media evaluation industry still uses much of his original methodology. He was a founding member of AMEC, the International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communications, and chaired the Association for over four years in the early 2000’s.
Anticipating the need for the true effectiveness of media to reflect how media is consumed in the digital age, as well as to be understood and measured in ‘hard business terms’, Mark embarked on the development of the Metricomm platform, co-founding the company in 2020 with fellow directors Karen Williams and Gareth Jones.
